Sometimes we meet people in our lives who completely change the fabric of our life experience. One of those people in my life is Helen Fox Appell. I wouldn’t be who I am today without the guidance and support of Helen.

She offered me a Buddhist Arts grant for many many years, it supported my ‘art as a spiritual path’ journey in ways I can’t really put into words here.

Not only was Helen Appell my grant provider she has been my dance teacher of Charya Nritya Buddhist dance since I was 25 years old. Her presence has left it’s valuable imprint in powerful ways, Helen taught me diligence, perseverance, willingness to go beyond my known capacity, depth of perception, nuance in liminality, compassion and understanding for my long long process.

Thank you with gratitude beyond this material world for alliances, like I have had the honor of having, which rarely come into fully realized form as this connection with my teacher Helen Fox Appell.
